You may know BJ as the soulful voice featured on tracks with Dom Kennedy, Kindred the Family Soul, and Fly Union. His voice and talent is something we all need to hear. BJ released his debut album PINEaPPLENOW-LATERS on February 21 featuring artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jarius Mozee, and Boi Josh.

I love BJ’s voice. I sing his part on Fly Union’s song “Look Up To The Sky” ALL the time lol! Can’t wait to hear his album!

I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner of Stem Graphics, Mike Watts, the other day. We talked about screen printing, marketing, and all those good things. It was very exciting to see how screen printing works. And it was even more exciting talking about my future plans with designing clothing.

My Playlist: “Look Up To The Sky” by Fly Union

Fly Union’s most recent mixtape The Greater Than Club or TGTC released last year in April. The mixtape features artists like BJ The Chicago Kid, Dom Kennedy, P.Blackk, and trio Pac DiV.

Their music has a smooth vibe to it that I really like. This is definitely a tape I can listen to without skipping any tracks!

Formal Eye is back with a sneak peek of their new gear for the late winter/early spring season. As you can see this collection has beanies, pull over hoodies with their saying Look Good-Feel Good-Do Good, and sun glasses.

Their beanies are now available to purchase on their online shop. I’m definitely looking forward to their new collection. I’m loving their sun glasses!

Happy Birthday and Rest In Peace Jay Dilla

I’m not Dilla’s number one fan but I do respect his legacy. Over the summer I got the chance to go to a tribute show for J in D.C. It was amazing to see how he has influenced people within the music industry. I am glad to see that his work still lives on through the faces in hip hop and music in general.

Miguel has finally released new music following the huge success of his debut album All I Want Is You. He is releasing a new project Art Dealer Chic: Vol. 1 on February 27th. This song is so beautiful! It’s exciting to see him grow as an artist. I remember first listening to him on Blu and Exile’s Below The Heavens.

Gypsy Death Star is a relatively new Indie-Electro band based out of Ventura, CA. They released their debut EP How To Skin A Ghost in 2010 and will be releasing a self titled album later on this year!

I must also say that Jakob did a phenomenal job with this video. He’s taken his cinematography to a whole new level with this one!

If you’re in Toronto you do not want to miss out on the Art of Reuse’s first ever Interim Women’s thrift shop. On February 19th they are bringing it back to where it all started about two years ago in Toronto. The women’s collection holds 200 unique pieces which include accessories, dresses, shoes, sheers, floral and more.

R+I Creative Presents: INFLUENCERS (How Trends & Creativity Becomes Contagious)

INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what is means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion, and entertainment. This documentary features influential people like Jeff Staple of Staple Design , Rob Stone & Jon Cohen of Cornerstone and The FADER Magazine, and fashion editor Josh Peskowitz to name a few. I really enjoyed this film. We are all influenced or inspired by others in some point in our life and this film emphasizes that point.

(The music featured in this film is awesome by the way)
